COKER RECYCLING
Where feasible, recycling in the coker is the most environmentally sound and cost-effective method for minimization of refinery wastes. Scaltech International has developed a coker recycling process that generates an oil-free slurry of solids in water ideal for quench cycle injection in delayed cokers.
The slurry product of Scaltech's processing can be tailored to provide a range of solids content to meet the thermal needs of the coker and simultaneously maximize the recycle rate of refinery waste solids.
The advantages of coker recycling include:
· Full control over the entire process by the refinery,
· 100% on-site recycling, thereby eliminating off-site disposal, and
· The lowest total cost.
The table shows data collected from two refineries currently using Scaltech International's proprietary quench-cycle injection process.
